The catalyst for the creation of DIVE was the passing of Michael Eastman, Christopher Watson’s husband of 40 years. The abstract work is a response to the process of reckoning with the cycle of life and death.
Other dance works on the program are by company choreographers Becky Heist, Ryan Parent, Sarah LaRose-Holland and guest artist Daniel McCusker. The program will include screenings of two dance films: Catch and Release, by Christopher Watson and Close Reveal: An Homage to Hilary Harris by Becky Heist.
The Christopher Watson Dance Company is a diverse, multi-generational company with members who are in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s. This is the companys 27th season of performances.
